Healed of spinal disease
Translated from French
"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This sentence, spoken by the great Master to people of a bygone era, speaks today to people the world over. And it freed me from an illness that had ravaged me for several years.
I was in the grip of constant fear and was taking large amounts of medication.
Suffering from spondylosis, I was in the grip of constant fear and was taking large amounts of medication.
One day my husband placed a copy of The Herald of Christian Science on my bedside table. At first I scolded him about it because of the proliferation of cults in our country. Then, out of curiosity, I picked it up and looked at the page where my husband had been reading.
I was struck by those words from the Bible: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Although I had very little knowledge of the Bible, I realized that that sentence came from it. This led me to continue reading.
I discovered that the author of the piece was writing about a problem relating to the human body. What struck me the most was the discussion that we are created in the image and likeness of God, and that we have infinite possibilities because God is All-in-all and each of us is related to Him as His creation. It was interesting to conclude that, when we understand this, we can rise above limitations, sin, or sickness.
The next morning I woke to find that I felt no more pain or heaviness. Deep down inside I wondered if this was how a healing would take place. And indeed it had. Imagine my joy!
I continually give thanks to our Father-Mother, God, for granting me the grace to learn about Christian Science.
