THE 91st PSALM—and a lesson learned from Larry
I'VE HEARD the 91st Psalm mentioned often since the terrorist attacks occurred. One passage in this psalm is especially meaningful to me, thanks to Larry, our pet Amazon "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust."
Covered with gray down instead of the bright, colorful feathers that cover the rest of his body, the area under Larry's wings is soft and warm. Larry instinctively raises up his wings so I can tuck my hands underneath them.
It's this kind of warm and comfortable place, covered by God's feathers, where we can snuggle soft and close to Him. I think of this place whenever I read the 91st Psalm. I know that in this "secret place of the most High" I'm protected, loved, and secure—and so is everyone else.
