A kid prays for peace in the world
On September 11, after she came home from school, Sarah Liebenrood (see photo) wrote this article about how she prayed when the students at her school learned that New York and Washington had been attacked.
I am almost 12, and live in Boston, where nearly 30,000 travelers have been stranded because no planes took off.
As many of you know, Tuesday was International Peace Day. I think it is pretty ironic that something happened that was not peaceful. It was very shocking what happened in New York and Washington, D. C. But I have learned that thinking determines your experience, so we should not be thinking of what else could happen that is worse. For example, some kids in my class were trying to figure out the angle at which the Prudential building would have to be at to fall on our school, because we are so close to it.
