Ned Odegaard spent over 20 years as an investment banker with J. P. Morgan. He is presently with an executive job placement firm. His work has taken him outside the United States to Asia and to Europe. We asked Ned to comment on the world financial markets in light of September's events.
Does business related to spirituality?
If you boil it down to its fundamental point, business is the provision of goods and services, and that means identifying the needs of others, and then finding some way to serve those needs. But is business a zero-sum game—meaning that what's good for one person is automatically bad for somebody else? That does not have to be true.
