Prayers of an Army reservist on standby
Captain Eric Nager, US Army Reserves—an investment advisor representative at Southern Capital Services, Inc.—is on standby for possible call-up to active duty with the 375th Transportation Group in Mobile, Alabama.
The moment I heard the news [of the September 11 attacks], I prayed to eliminate fear—for myself and others. Fear can cloud thinking and keep you focused on a problem. I have found that the best way to dispel fear is by giving gratitude. It might sound difficult to be grateful in this situation, but many things have come to my mind.
For example, I'm grateful for the bravery and heroism of the rescue workers. I'm grateful for the overwhelming international support. Most of all, I'm grateful that God is Life itself, without beginning and without end. God created all men and women, and therefore everyone truly has eternal life. God's life and the life He gives cannot be ended in an attack.
