Ideals that unite us

The Herald of Christian Science

The Sierra Madre to the north and the

Andes in the south join together in one continuous mountain range, whose length is unsurpassed in the World. They link like arms in a joyous dance, whose melody culminates in monumental crescendo—their southernmost peaks reaching to the clouds in rugged beauty.

This chain of mountains etched high on the horizon is like the ideals of unity, unselfishness, and freedom that have forged the cultures of the region. Many citizens of undeniable stature in their respective countries in South America—Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay—have shared a common vision, a love of liberty. With unique fervor, they have made these ideals their own, ideals that flow through history, showing God's all-encompassing guidance and power.
