On the road with God

Three years ago, I went to China to study the Chinese language and culture. A month later, when it was time to go home to Indonesia, I discovered there was a problem with my airline ticket, and I couldn't leave the country with my group. Since the flights from China to Indonesia were only twice a week, and there was a long waiting list, I had to wait in China for ten more days. I stayed behind with the tour leader and her seven-year-old child, but I was scared and homesick. I also thought about how boring it was going to be without my friends.

The first two days of this waiting period were very difficult for me. Then I remembered that God governs my life. I realized I didn't need to ask God for anything because He already knew what I needed and would take care of me.

When I became calm and was no longer afraid, my worries disappeared. The remaining eight days turned out to be amazing. The tour leader was extremely kind: she took me shopping and sightseeing to places the other students hadn't been. When it was time to go home, I took a lot of wonderful memories with me. And I didn't even have to pay anything during those ten days!
