First Published in Britain, they're wildly popular, although some pundits raised doubts about them. No, it's not the Harry Potter books. It's "Pocket Canons"—individual books of the Bible, each with an introduction by a different celebrity. Presented in the King James Version, more than a million copies have been sold in Britain. The books are being introduced in the United States by Grove Press.

Among the celebrities participating are Doris Lessing (book of Ecclesiastes), Nick Cave (Mark's Gospel), the Dalai Lama (the Epistle of James), and U2's Bono (Psalms).
