Calm trust in God ends flu symptoms
The thought of calmness has helped me in many different situations, but I had never thought of it in relation to physical difficulties. Then one year, several times during what's commonly considered the flu season, I felt I was coming down with the flu, but I resolved to be calm and feel the presence of God. And I held firm to the fact that this presence and power of God heals. Immediately the symptoms stopped. In the past I had always been very sensitive to cold weather.
In The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy refers to "...the power which lies concealed in the calm..." (p. 204). We are often told not to be afraid. This can seem difficult, but being calm can sometimes come more readily. If this calm is recognized as the presence of God, it heals.
