Prayer heals severe pain
About fifteen years ago, I was driving home alone, when suddenly I felt extreme discomfort in my stomach and back. There was no telephone nearby to call someone, so I was tempted to feel alone and afraid, but being a student of Christian Science from early childhood, I was taught to always trust God, His omnipotence and ever-presence. I remembered a statement from Science and Health that comforted and encouraged me: "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble'" (p. 444).
This healing took place within half an hour, while I was driving my car.
