Hit by golf ball. Quickly healed.

Since our retirement seven years ago to the mountains of east Tennessee, my husband and I have continued to see the loving care of God in our lives.

We live on a golf course and take our dog for a daily walk, being careful to avoid golfers. One morning as we were completing our walk, I felt a tremendous blow to my head. I crumpled to my knees. My husband thought he had heard a ball hit a tree. But turning around, he saw me on the ground bleeding profusely. I recalled something I'd read: "Declare that you are not hurt and understand the reason why, and you will find the ensuing good effects to be in exact proportion to your disbelief in physics, and your fidelity to divine metaphysics, confidence in God as All, which the Scriptures declare Him to be" (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 397).

My husband asked if I could get up and walk home. I said I could.

After reaching our house, however, I felt faint, and asked him to call a Christian Science practitioner. When he reached her, she immediately assured him that the creation of God could never be harmed. She said she would pray for me.

A short time later she called back, and I was gratefully able to say that the pain and dizziness had gone, although some bleeding remained. By the end of our conversation, all bleeding had stopped.

I went to church the next day, and never missed participating in any activity as a result of the blow.

My hairdresser noticed that the scar had almost vanished.

Not long afterward, my hairdresser noticed that the scar had almost vanished. New hair had filled in the area, and my skull had resumed its normal shape. She is aware of my reliance on God for this restoration and says she marvels at this healing.
