Able to hike now

A couple of years ago, I was on a backpacking trip with three other people. We set up a base camp about five hours from the trailhead, prepared to enjoy several exploratory day hikes.

The second day, we set off a little later than planned, aiming to reach the peak of the highest mountain and return to the campsite before dark. At the halfway point, we sat down for lunch. As I was last to finish eating, I told the others to start off and said I'd catch up with them.

As they left, I stood up. To my surprise, however, a muscle in my thigh tightened and locked. I painfully crumpled to the ground.
