Dear Sentinel,

When I was camping about a year ago, my friends Jessie, Eric, and I went exploring. We found a meadow full of flowers and decided to look for more. We had gone off the trail we were told to stay on. After about twenty minutes I said, "Let's go back now." We turned around, and we were lost.

We wandered around and couldn't find a trail. After we finally found one, we took it the wrong way. All the roads around the Campground were dirt roads, but we saw a paved road. Then we turned around and found a different trail and followed that trail. Then Jessie suddenly said, "Wait. We can't be lost with God." We all tried to sing a hymn that begins "Shepherd, show me how to go" (see Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304). But none of us knew the words very well.

We had all gone to a Christian Science summer camp. We started singing songs we had learned at camp. The songs helped us get over our fear of being lost and helped us understand that we were always protected by God. Singing also helped us have fun instead of worry. Then we heard dogs barking, and they were the dogs from the campsite next to us. We ran the rest of the way back to our campsite. I would like to thank the counselors at camp for teaching us those songs, and I would like to thank God for never letting us out of His sight.
