Prayer results in physical healing and a harmonious family life

Over many years I have benefited immeasurably from the testimonies in our periodicals, and it is time to add my own.

I was nearing completion of my final year of college, and had had a number of experiences during my period of student teaching that had been unsettling and discouraging. In addition, nagging physical problems were ongoing. During a weekend trip, I visited a friend's relatives. I as literally amazed at the beauty, order, and joy expressed in that home. I began asking questions. "We're Christian Scientists," the wife finally explained, "And what you see and feel are the result of Christian Science." She loaned me a copy of Science and Health. I took the book with me and read far into the night.

That reading marked a turning point in my life. I returned home healed of many physical ills. I completed my course work very successfully, and entered on what became a productive, progressive time of school teaching. My writing skills improved so much that I embarked upon a writing career in addition to my teaching. A marriage of incredible support was enjoyed for nearly forty years. Two children were born painlessly. All along the way, healings of many sorts resulted from total reliance on divine Mind, God, as my only physician. After the passing of my husband, the understanding that God's man is spiritual and inseparable from Him left me with only the beauty of shared happiness, not grief.
