WITHOUT WHEELS?
I once thought that with my fourwheel drive vehicle I was ready for anything. One day while traveling on an icy road, however, I lost control of the vehicle and demonlished it.
With no money to replace it, I didn't know how I would be able to continue my activities. So I prayed constantly to replace this fear with the assurance from God that He would take care of all of my needs. I acknowledged that my ability to get where I needed to be did not require that I own a car. Such security comes only from God's ever-abiding care. Science and Health explains, "In divine Science, man is sustained by God, the divine Principle of being" (p. 530). I knew that God governs every aspect of man's life, and that if I listened to God and followed His direction, everything would work out.
Referring to the basic necessities for food and clothing, Christ Jesus explained, "Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt 6:32, 33). Jesus was explaining the way to freedom and security. It offers protection and sustenance through the understanding of God's ever-present love.
