To Our Readers

Judging by the kind of advertising customary at this time of year, there are two seasons happening simultaneously—Christmas, of course, but also the cold and flu season. One wonders what it is that most people are waiting expectantly to receive, the perfect gift or some dreadful ailment.

The former, we hope. What the Christmas season should bring to mind is the gift of God's healing and saving power, His Christ, appearing to humanity. It's a very real and timeless gift, as the articles and testimonies in each week's Sentinel attest.

This week, one of our frequent contributors, Elise Moore, writes on how God's love and power not only cure but prevent illness, recalling an instance when she felt the symptoms of a cold come and go in as much time as it took to finish playing a board game with her little brother. The author points out some of the steps you can take to guard against the fears and images that promote disease. "How to prevent illness" is the name of Elise Moore's article, and it's our Cover Story. We think you'll find it to be a practical guide, and gift, for making this a happy and healthy season.
