Acknowledging God's truth heals muscular disorder
A few years ago, during the summer, I experienced a problem with one of my legs. When I stood after sitting or lying down, one leg seemed to have no strength and would not support me. Once I had moved around for just a moment or so, however, my leg was fine. I was able to play tennis, walk long distances, and do normal chores without discomfort, limping, or lack of freedom.
As the problem seemed to be muscular in nature, I used the Concordance to the writings of Mary Baker Eddy to try to get a clearer picture of the spiritual facts regarding muscles, activity, freedom, and so forth.
When the condition did not yield to my prayers, I contacted a Christian Science practitioner to ask her to treat me. We prayed together for two or three weeks, but the difficulty continued. The situation was very discouraging. I decided that more prayer was needed, so I devote most of the next three days to study and prayer. This was something I had never done before.
