Physical and mental freedom by leaning on God

Several years ago the author and her husband were the objects of much jealousy, hatred, and slander aimed at their characters and their financial status. They found comfort in the statement in Science and Health that says, "Universal Love is the divine way in Christian Science" (p. 266).

Both did much in-depth spiritual study, loving these people as God's children, knowing that they could have no enemies.

The author tells what happened next: "As we loved more deeply, the persecution seemed to intensify until we were faced with it on a daily basis. One Wednesday evening, while driving home from church, my husband experienced a severe attack of pain and was unable to stand or walk.
