A lifetime of healing through reliance on God
I recall that when I was about seven years old I was sent home from school, as the school nurse said I had the measles. My mother called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. New York State law required that a doctor come to examine me, but when he arrived all the spots were practically gone, and I was feeling fine. He said I could return to school the next day. That was the only time I have ever had to see a doctor.
When I was a teenager, my dad and brother were out burning brush. I somehow became engulfed in the heavy smoke from this fire. The fire apparently included quite a lot of poison ivy and poison oak, and shortly thereafter my entire body was covered with a severe rash and there was much swelling. A practitioner was called to treat me. At one point there was a crisis in my condition, and my mother called this practitioner to ask him to come at once. When he arrived I remember his firm declarations of truth, explaining my identity as the perfect child of God. I felt so very loved and lost all fear. Within a few days all the swelling subsided and disappeared completely. Since that healing I've never experienced ivy poisoning. God never created a poisonous plant or anything that could injure His child, because God created everything good.
