Safe living is no roll of the dice
Securing our safety
Perhaps we know of someone who has given loyal devotion to his company for his entire working career, and everyone believed his place and income were secure. But for whatever reason—mergers, market needs, personnel changes, or chance—something stepped in and reordered his life. Where was the security?
Or maybe someone feels safe because the family lives in a lovely neighborhood. When they read of a tragedy in a similar neighborhood, however, fear may be hard to overcome.
Is each of us a sitting duck, or is there a way to be safe, to be free from the fear of chance? Real safety means we're able to face the fear of chance whether we are in a war zone, a crime-ridden neighborhood, confronted with a scary economic future, or even living a comfortable lifestyle.
