A lifetime of healing
This is the first testimony I have ever submitted, despite the fact that I have been a Christian Scientist all my life and have had many beautiful healings and wonderful instances of protection over the years.
One healing from my childhood that stands out was the healing of a burned arm. I had inadvertently leaned my forearm up against a hot iron. We had a household of company, so my mother quickly covered my arm and took me into a bedroom where we could quietly pray together. My fear was soon quieted, and I was able to play with my cousins. The healing was rapid, and no scarring took place.
I began my own earnest study of Christian Science when I was about sixteen. One evening my sister and I were driving to school from our farm to attend a play rehearsal. As usual, I was thinking about God, when suddenly the thought came to slow down. My sister also said it out loud. I immediately braked, even though there seemed to be no reason to do so. All of a sudden, a tractor, driving without lights, loomed in front of us. We were able to stop just in time. I was so grateful that both my sister and I had been listening to what God was telling us and that I had been immediately obedient to that still small voice.
