Back pain overcome through prayer

I experienced a healing of severe back pain. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for treatment through prayer. As a result of the prayers of the practitioner and my own prayers, I realised that I had been holding a deep-seated resentment towards a fellow worker, who I thought was not acting in a fair manner towards me. I began to see that the indifference I had thought I was feeling was really hatred.

One morning I was talking to the practitioner about how I was feeling not too good, and he gently but firmly asked me if I had been listening to the "angels." This stopped me in my tracks. He was referring me to this definition in Science and Health: "Angels. God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality" (p. 581).

I then started to claim the ever-presence of God's truth and love, and within a short time I felt a sense of peace and I was healed—both of the back pain and of my resentment. I thank the practitioner for his help, and I give God thanks! I am most grateful for Christian Science.
