GOD IS OUR PROTECTOR
My wife and I were wakened one morning at 2:30 by what sounded like shotgun fire in the woods around our house. We rushed out on the back porch to discover snow-laden trees breaking and falling in our woods and yard. This was the second night of what turned out to be a four-day snow and ice storm. The governor said it was the worst storm he had seen in our area in more than seventy years.
I knew immediately that I needed to overcome my fear and to pray for protection. My first thought as I prayed was that God, good, is all-presence and all-power. I reasoned that since He fills all space, there is nothing beside Him, so there is nothing to fear. I knew we could find security and protection from harmful conditions by acknowledging God as our only Life and affirming our real identity as His spiritual ideas.
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy states: "If you decide that climate or atmosphere is unhealthy, it will be so to you. Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take.
