MADELEINE ALBRIGHT ON JOINING THE NATIONAL WOMEN'S HALL OF FAME
The following is an excerpt from the speech delivered by United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright upon her induction into the National Women's Hall of Fame in July of this year.
"...My friends, the invitation presented by the Hall of Fame is to 'Come Stand Among Great Women.' In recent years, I have had that honor many times; not in fancy meetings rooms or the high councils of state, but in refugee camps, in villages constructed out of mud and tin, ...in arid wastelands where noth ing grows but the appetites of small children....
