SPIRITUAL PEACE INSTEAD OF EMOTIONAL CHAOS
Emotional crises. Angry outbursts. Hurt feelings. When we find ourselves in the midst of an emotional confrontation, we can "be still"—we can quiet despair, confusion, and self-justification, and reach out to God, divine Love, at that very moment in that very place.
Our comfort and protection consist of knowing that God, our true Father and Mother, is ever present—that He knows all, that He is governing us and those involved with us, and that we can feel His presence, love, and guidance.
As we reach out to Him, we can find peace and a quiet assurance that all is well. We can feel the uplifting reassurance that God's law is operating with irresistible power—controlling all in perfect harmony, with utter precision. Christ, Truth, comes to us, revealing the operation of this divine law. As Mary Baker Eddy writes in one of her poems, "And o'er earth's troubled, angry sea/I see Christ walk ..." (Poems, p. 12).
