God cares for all His creation

Early one summer morning, I was walking on one of the country roads near our home. As I walked, up ahead on the road I could see that a cat had been run over. It lay motionless. As I approached the spot where it lay, I declared silently in prayer that all life is in God, the only Maker of all creation. Life is not and has never been in matter, therefore matter has no life to surrender. Therefore this cat's life was intact and untouched now. As I came to where the cat lay, suddenly it lifted its head. Stooping down beside it, I firmly said, "You are not dying! Nothing has touched you! Nothing can crush out Life, which is God." The cat rallied a little.

Since we both needed to get out of the middle of the road, I gently carried him from the spot and laid him in the grass, all the while reassuring him of his perfection, telling him of God's complete love and protection for him always. I knelt beside him, praying to establish harmony in my thought. Soon the shallow, erratic breathing became normal and the glassiness cleared from his eyes. As I took a tissue from my pocket and wiped the blood from his mouth, I affirmed that blood does not give or take away life, and shortly the bleeding from his mouth stopped. We stayed in the grassy area by the road for a while as I reassured him of the spiritual fact that God's creation had experienced no injury and that he was well right then and there.

Soon he got to his feet and ran into a nearby pasture. As I watched him, he stopped and started to groom himself. This completely satisfied me that all was indeed well with him.
