It is long past time to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the Science of Christianity has done in my life. Numerous healings, several harmonious moves into new homes, relationships restored, and new positions secured attest to God's power and presence in my life.
Recently, following a meeting I attended, I became involved in a discussion with several friends that later deeply distressed me. On my way home I turned to God in prayer. Thoughts of His guidance and support for all right activities comforted me.
The next morning, however, when I woke up, the gums on my lower jaw were swollen and sore. I once again turned to God for His healing message. Immediately this passage from Science and Health came to thought: "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government. Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation" (p. 393).
