Rejoice!
No ray of light within the prison shone
Where Paul and Silas lay, their feet made fast.
But suddenly echoed throughout the walls of stone
Their praise to God—a prayerful sound.
The other prisoners heard and, hearing,
With the disciples were unbound!
Dear Lord, when fear and pain are holding me
In darkness and captivity,
May I remember to rejoice
So others, too, may hear my voice,
And, glorifying You with me,
We all may find ourselves made free!
