The one cause
It's natural to experience spiritual growth as an element of Christian Science healing. This result from the purifying activity of the Christ. Thus, those who've been healed of physical illness often remember the experience as, for instance, "the time I stopped feeling like a helpless mortal" or "the time I was washed clean of resentment."
Christian Scientists, however, don't categorize physical ailments as psychosomatic, by identifying certain moral failings or human fears as the causes of specific diseases.
When we are faced with symptoms of physical illness, what's needed is to recognize that God is the one true cause, and that He created man spiritual and perfect and maintains man in that perfection. Man is always safe in God's loving care, and this truth awakens us from the fearful imaginings of the belief of life in matter to a recognition of our present oneness with God in health and harmony. Bodily healing evidences this spiritual awakening.
