Arise! It's God's day!
It's early morning. You just woke up. You are looking forward to this day—because you have the whole of it free to do what you love doing. And in addition to that, it's a perfectly beautiful day in every way! So, as you rise and begin to prepare for the activity ahead, you find yourself singing. What makes me look forward to each day with a song in my heart is the realization that it is God's day, and that I have the whole day free to do what I love doing—serving Him in whatever activities I happen to be involved in.
Of course, God's day isn't made from the light of the sun. God's day consists of the spiritual light that comes forth from Him, from ever-present Truth, Life, and Love. It's the light spoken of in the account of spiritual creation in the book of Genesis in the Bible: "And God said, Let there be light: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day" (1:3–5). God's day is the light of Truth, and when it dawns in human consciousness of fear, illuminating it with the love of God, it dispels the darkness of fear, ignorance, and sin. In doing so, it brings healing to the human mind and body.
God's day—the light of Truth—is always here. We are free the whole day every day to let this light illumine our thought with love for God and man and to bring healing wherever it is needed —in our homes, communities, and throughout the world. The light of God reveals His true nature as divine good, and man's true nature as the very reflection of good. We serve God and man by keeping our thought wide-open to this spiritual light.
