Birthday thoughts
We know that we don't need to count
Our years, nor search the skies
To fathom what the future holds
Or where our pathway lies,
For good is always right at hand
In God's eternal plan.
In His forever-now, we are
God's ever-perfect man.
In gratitude for all the love
That's blessed our years on earth,
We can express our thanks to God
And know that our "new birth"
Is taking place continually—
Each moment, and each hour,
Until we are at one with God's
All-presence and all-power.
Now, as I write these joyous thoughts
I think of you, and pray
That you'll know God's sustaining love
Each moment of each day.
I pray that you'll know joy and peace—
Untouched by doubt or fear,
God's gentle hand still guiding you
Through each successive year.
