Dependence on divine law—ever-present, ever-active goodness, love, and grace—has for me proved to be a wonderfully satisfying and trustworthy way of life and health. About two years ago I was healed through prayer of a growth that had been on my face for so long it had seemed a part of me. This healing has since been a milestone in my spiritual progress.

The unsightly blemish, although never painful, was a daily source of concern. Each time I put makeup on or brushed my teeth, I was conscious of it. I learned to view these times as opportunities to pray—to see the perfect, spotless nature of God's man, even in the midst of the problem. A number of years passed, and I felt some progress had been made even though I was not yet healed.

First the fear of the problem was overcome; I addressed fear as an illusion or lie, and knew further that a lie was absolutely no part of God, because He is perfect Truth. It could not therefore be part of me. Although still quite evident, this blemish stopped growing. Self-consciousness was another hurdle I had to face, and I found it imperative to know that because God, the only Mind, was supreme, those looking at me could also see only the spotless reflection of God that I was acknowledging for myself.
