God is Love, and through His love I was saved not only...

God is Love, and through His love I was saved not only from alcoholism, but also from cocaine addiction.

Although I was brought up in a family of Christian Scientists, I did not practice my religion until I found myself in a desperate state. At the time I was pursuing a rigorous music career. Nothing I was looking to for pleasure made me happy. Nothing truly satisfied me. I kept plunging deeper and deeper into materialism, hoping to find peace—but I just kept getting more frustrated and disappointed. Bad relationships and chemical dependencies continued, until I was finally desperate enough to do something about it. I truly believed that there was a God to whom I could turn. But how? And could He forgive such a hypocritical sinner?! (That was the concept I had of myself at the time.)

I reached out to God to give me the strength and knowledge to prepare my willing heart for what I needed to do for healing. There are aggressive and deeply held beliefs among many people that we have to play out such hopeless roles of dependency until we die. I learned this is not necessary for me or for you, if we will accept and understand right now that God never made one sinner.
