I am so grateful for the wonderful religion Christian Science, and all the events that finally brought me into it.
When I was a little girl my aunt came to live with us. She was a Christian Scientist, and I can remember going to her with all my problems. When I was seven years old, Aunt Mary moved away, much to my sorrow. But a seed had been planted.
Many years later I had completely drifted away from what I had learned of God, and my life was in shambles—my marriage was on the rocks, my health in a very bad way. I turned to Christian Science and began to study in earnest.
One of my many problems at the time was that I smoked. Although I had tried many times unsuccessfully to give up cigarettes using human willpower, it was not until I really wanted to join the Christian Science Church that all desire to smoke dropped away without a struggle. I was entirely healed through prayer.
The privilege of having class instruction and attending association meetings is one of the many beautiful things that has been mine, and I give thanks.
