Life is forever
If a friend or relative has passed on, is there a way to overcome sadness? Christian Science answers with a very strong "yes!" It shows that as we understand Christ Jesus' teaching that Life is eternal, we trade sadness for a deep joy of which nothing can rob us.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy states, "God, Life, Truth, and Love make man undying" (p. 427). And a passage from Psalms tells us, "O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved" (66:8, 9).
Jesus taught that, in contrast to what the physical senses report, our individual lives as well as the lives of those around us are forever anchored in God, infinite Life, and so are as eternal as God. Because man is God's image and likeness, we actually reflect God changelessly. Eternal Life and Love cannot die, and neither can Life's expression, man.
