God's protecting power
Is our safety determined by chance? Or by ever-present, divine Love?
Many people believe that we have either good luck or bad luck, that we live by chance and have little or no control over our lives. Some even believe we're controlled by the stars. Such points of view can leave us longing for a sense of security and safety.
Through deep and earnest study of the Bible we can find a real and dependable basis for security. The Scriptures contain many accounts of individuals who learned to turn to God to protect themselves and others in times of great need. They learned that understanding the might and presence of God enabled them to overcome the most challenging conditions.
I knew that I had to dig deep into the Bible to find the real source of security. For years I studied various Scriptural accounts of protection. Then finally I began to accept the spiritual fact that because God is infinite Spirit, filling all space, as the Bible teaches, I live in the infinitude of Spirit as God's spiritual idea, subject only to His harmonious control. It was actually a mistake to think of myself as a vulnerable mortal, subject to chance and harm.
