Reno Gazette-Journal
From a letter to the editor of the Reno Gazette-Journal, Reno, Nevada.
"Does it take a major disaster to tell society that children need instruction in morals? It seems so. In one city, after a tragedy, the mayor asked churches and civic organizations to come forward to help children learn how to resist actions they will regret.
"In our city, we have such spiritual resources to guide youngsters. Sunday schools and youth organizations such as Scouting stand ready to show kids how to withstand peer pressure that can corrupt their natural innocence.
"How to begin? Those responsible for youngsters can phone the nearest church and find out how to enroll a child in Sunday school or in a summer Bible study class. Scout organizations need only your telephone call to embrace and enroll a child in their wholesome activities.
"See listings under Churches and Youth Organizations in the Yellow Pages of the telephone book.
