"Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so...
"Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." This counsel from Hebrews expresses my feelings as I recall with deep gratitude a healing experience I had some years back.
For a while I felt stressed by a variety of situations. My university organization had become subject to conflicting influences, leading to mismanagement and deceitful, unfair personnel practices. These problems caused a drop in morale and created confrontation among the staff. I tended to drift along in the mist of discontent, feeling depressed and aimless, not only about my work but also my long-term prospects within the organization.
At the same time, a family building project away from the home took most of my free time and required taxing, physical labor. I often voiced my frustrations to family members, but this only aggravated my discontent.
