Class instruction: putting off limitations
If you've had experiences that have shown you clearly that Christian Science heals, it's natural to want to understand more about how Christian Science healing comes about, and to want to be able to demonstrate what Christ Jesus taught in a more consistent way. The teachings of Christian Science are life-changing and cause us to grow spiritually and put off limitations. The special two weeks of Christian Science class instruction have this kind of transforming effect, as the basics of Christianity, including its healing practice, are explained.
This learning isn't a matter of acquiring a certain amount of information, however. Spiritual education is a matter of being deeply transformed within; and if we truly want to be changed by divine Truth, we can be certain we will be. Studying Christian Science isn't like studying a mere academic subject. To understand God, who is infinite Principle, the creator of all, requires more than an intellectual curiosity—it requires one's whole heart.
Should someone have resolved all their current problems before taking class? How does someone know if he or she is sufficiently committed to Science, ready to apply to an authorized teacher of Christian Science? And which teacher should one talk with about it? The answers come in the same way healings come about in Christian Science—through trusting Spirit's practical guidance of our thoughts and lives.
