INSIDE: LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE

The words on our cover are taken from an interview with Mrs. Lonise Bias, an intrepid Christian. When we talked with Mrs. Bias on the telephone, she asked permission to begin her interview with prayer. It was a heartfelt prayer that certainly supported both interviewer and interviewee.

We're often told to "have courage" and to "take heart." This issue of the Sentinel goes a long way toward showing us how. In "Taking off the blindfold" and in the editorial "Rising and resisting" we learn something more of the underlying spiritual and metaphysical reasons why courage is natural and fear is not. It is true we should have courage. It is also true that we can— by understanding ourselves to be God's spiritual expression. And we learn a great deal, too, from some humbling examples of other Christians who have faced the toughest of times with God-given, calm assurance.

The writer of "God's man is always useful" doesn't evade hard questions. He asks, "... what if the feeling of uselessness comes upon us from some event outside of ourselves ...?" He urges us to see that our strength comes in remembering that "this is the way God has actually made us to be." So we believe this issue can help each of you "dear readers" to "have courage" and to "take heart."
