God's man is always useful
Feeling useless, worthless? Maybe what's needed is a whole new perspective on who you are.
What's the best way to keep weeds out of my lawn?" I asked a professional landscaper. "Weeds fill up bare spaces," he replied. He went on to explain that a strong, full lawn doesn't leave room for weeds to spread. And weeds that do appear have limited opportunity to establish themselves.
What about the bare spaces that sometimes occur in one's own life? Those aimless, underemployed periods when life seems a series of trivial tasks? Or the bare spaces in one's thinking—those times when we seem to be a ready host for whatever opinion or fear is blowing in popular society?
How can we stop leaving ourselves open to the random intrusion of weedlike thoughts and actions? It's not as simple as purchasing seed or sod to fill in the empty spaces of a lawn! But discovering our God-given fullness and usefulness is always doable.
