"To every tribe and nation"
Not so long ago I had a bout with sickness. While I am a praying person, my efforts in this instance were directed mostly toward my own interests. Certainly I was giving little attention to praying for peace in the world and for the welfare of mankind.
As I lay in bed, I began to look for the blessings that could be gained from my forced inactivity.
Christian Science, lighting up the Bible's spiritual meaning, had shown me that God is the supreme power, filling all space. This infinite presence is not a vague or mechanistic force but a divine, orderly, and beneficent power, conscious Love itself, to which I could turn to give me the peace I needed. I knew that Christ Jesus referred to his all-loving Father as universal Spirit, and he told us that we're all the children of this perfect creator. By listening prayerfully to these Christly messages of truth, I knew I would be able to see myself and everyone more clearly in terms of divine reality—as God, perfect Love, is seeing us.
