"Pause for thought"

"By I. R. Rosin, OBE, MD, FRCS, honorable life president of the Sephardi Hebrew Congregation."

"'Have we not all one Father? Hath not one God created us all?' (Malachi 2:10). These words from the Old Testament have been repeated through the ages, and yet there is so much enmity in the world amongst followers of different religions.

"Surely all those who acknowledge God as their creator should be able to live side by side without hatred, arguing and senseless quarrelling. Yet, even amongst those who devote themselves to religious work, one often finds friction and jealousy.... This century saw a Hitler and, sadly, antisemitism is on the rise again.

"No one should condemn another because their form of worship differs from their own. We are all working towards ultimate perfection, and this should be enough to ensure a friendly co-operative feeling amongst the various churches, sects, synagogues and mosques.

"Let us all adhere to the principles of our faith, whatever it may be, and thus help to make the world a far better place for the whole of mankind."
