A Few years ago my husband and I were driving on a busy street when a car skidded into our lane on the wet pavement and hit our car head-on.
My first thought was of the closeness to God I had been feeling recently along with an earnest desire to practice Christian Science healing more effectively. I had been knowing that "it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" (Philippians). Now in this moment of urgent need I saw clearly that my prayer and feeling of closeness to God could in no way be invalidated. I acknowledged that God, good, is the only cause. I also recognized that our Almighty, all-loving Father holds His spiritual child, forever safe in His care. This spiritual reality of being includes neither accident nor suffering.
