As on many other occasions when people have been left homeless through war or natural disaster, The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, is providing relief assistance in the Oakland, California, area in close cooperation with and through local Churches of Christ, Scientist. The devastation in the wake of the recent fire there has left many people without homes. Local church members are joining with their neighbors and other local groups in rebuilding efforts. In addition, a relief fund has been established by Churches of Christ, Scientist, in the San Francisco Bay area. Contributions can be sent to First Church of Christ, Scientist, 2619 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA, U.S.A. 94704.
