INSIDE: LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE

You don't have to subscribe to the view of a few that we live in apocalyptic times to feel that events of the past twenty months have been at the least "world-shaking." Ordinary people may be drawn into wondering how they can expect to lead a happy and reasonably secure life when the very ground under their feet seems to tremble.

If you listen to economic indicators, political predictions, and general conversation around you, it could seem you just have to take your chances, hold on, and hope for the best. But if you have found "A good anchor" in the eternal truths and assurances of the Bible, you've been realizing that stability isn't a matter of chance at all; it is guaranteed by God's benevolent law (see "Thinking it through"). God's government of our lives is something reliable and solid—not tentative, and it can and does replace fear and uncertainty.

Some of the writers in this issue tell of their own experiences in discovering that God's unchanging love is very real indeed. The laws of scientific Christianity became so real to one woman that she could suddenly find a way free of financial troubles. And several others in this issue tell how they were healed of serious physical problems as they came to understand what it means to be under God's government and to experience Christianity's original power. The good news is that God's man doesn't face an uncertain future. His life isn't left to chance.
