God's unchanging love

The world today seems to be in a constant state of change or flux as previous systems of government fall and new, more democratic ones begin to emerge. It can be quite hard, when such rapid changes take place, for people to adjust to the new situation. We all long for more freedom of expression, and yet at the same time the human heart intuitively yearns for a consistency that gives lasting stability and purpose to life.

Of course, change and upheavals are not new to human experience; they have always been part of world history. For example, the Roman period in which Christ Jesus lived was hardly a tranquil time. But Jesus came to tell the world of an entirely new reality—the reality of God's constant love for His spiritual creation and of His righteous government. Jesus demonstrated in his healing ministry among the people that God's government is unchangeable and eternal; it isn't altered or shaken by outward circumstances.

The Master taught his followers that there is a universal Father, even God, Spirit; that in reality man is not a frail human being living precariously on an ever-shifting world stage. Man, he taught, is God's child, created in His image and likeness, and forever in the Father's care.
