"Of summer camp meeting I remember best the boysenberry juice and burgers, the smell of Army canvas, the book tent, and the contralto voice of Del Delker. And one thing more—the spirited congregational singing of a hymn about power in the blood of the Lamb.

"No people today believe more fervently and literally in the wonder-working power of prayer than Christian Scientists. But, cruelly, the long arm of the law encroaches....

"Sensitized to the horrors of child abuse by others, anxious to do 'absolutely everything' for a child of our own who takes ill, we understand, perhaps even applaud, such actions by government [to prosecute Christian Science parents for relying on prayer rather than medical treatment]. But a few complexifying facts tend to change those attitudes.
