I was standing on top of an eight-foot ladder, assisting a crew of stonemasons, when the ladder tilted over and threw me to the ground. My side hit the building, my head hit the ladder, and my heels hit the ground hard. It felt as if my ribs were broken and my feet badly injured. I couldn't walk.

My son drove me home, and I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. Then I prayed as never before, pondering deeply every word of the Lord's Prayer and of "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Science and Health states, "Only as we rise above all material sensuousness and sin, can we reach the heaven-born aspiration and spiritual consciousness, which is indicated in the Lord's Prayer and which instantaneously heals the sick." And "the scientific statement of being" includes the sentence "All-in-all." By thoroughly understanding and digesting these two passages, I was back at work in three days, completely healed.
