You are changing the world

Many young people want to do something important to help solve the world's problems. In school and on television we are hearing a lot about global challenges like pollution and wars, and community problems like drug abuse and homelessness. We also hear encouraging stories of how people are finding ways to solve these problems. New ideas are needed.

Ideas that come to us when we turn to God are very special—the most powerful ideas there are. They can change and heal anything that needs it.

How does this work? Well, say you're looking at a problem. You can be quiet and listen for God's thoughts. You might do some reading in the Bible and find a verse that's special to you. There are also interesting and useful ideas in a book that helps us understand the Bible called Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. (She's the woman who discovered and founded Christian Science.) You can spend some time alone thinking and considering what the ideas you've found mean and what they have to do with you and the situation. And sometimes it can be helpful to talk about your thoughts with a friend, parent, or Sunday School teacher.
